Come out and share a meal and brotherhood with your fellow Automatic Fire Alarm Association of New Jersey members. We now have a cash bar from 5:00 to 6:00.

Our focus is on education not competition, we believe through education we can raise the level of fire protection in NJ, increasing the level of safety for our clients, increasing profits for our members and adding the level of life safety for our friends, families and neighbors.

Attendance at meetings provides you with valuable Continuing Personal Development Points (CPDs) needed for your New Jersey Fire Alarm Permit re-certification as well as maintaining your NICET Certification.

AFAA-NJ membership entitles you to one dinner at each of our general meetings.  You may bring additional people to the meeting and purchase their dinners @ $25 per person.

If you bring a potential member and that person joins AFAA-NJ, their dinner is “FREE”.

Be sure to RSVP: Dennis <d.decarlometrofire@verizon.net973 - 429 - 4846.

Our Evenings Speaker and Topic Minimize

Our technical presentation Designing Systems to be Code Compliant by our President Ed Armm, SET was well received. We invited the North New Jersey Fire Alarm Chapter of ASCET to our meeting and will be extending an invitation to them to attend all of our meetings for 2009.

Ed created this presentation and presented it at the 2008 National AFAA Meeting and Code Conference in April. The presentation was modified from a national code based seminar to one focusing on the codes and standards we use in New Jersey.

The seminar addressed the different codes, standards, insurance companies, 'best practices' and other issues that influence design, it also addresses the many stake holders each project may have and methods to gain consensus.

You can download a copy of the original presentation from the National site if you are a AFAA member, as a member benefit all presentations from the National Code Conference are available for download.

Please take a moment to consider the gift of life. Minimize

Over 92,000 people are waiting for the gift of life

Each day, about 74 people receive organ transplants. However, 18 people die each day waiting for transplants that can’t take place because of the shortage of donated organs.

Please decide today to make your wishes known about organ and tissue donation.

  • Your heart could beat for someone else.
  • Your lungs could breathe for someone else.
  • Your kidneys could free two people from dialysis.
  • Your liver could save the life of a patient awaiting a transplant.
  • Your corneas could give sight to two people.
  • Your bones could help repair other people's damaged joints.
  • Your skin could help heal burn victims.
