What is the Automatic Fire Alarm Association?
The Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA) is the only national trade organization dedicated to the automatic fire alarm industry.  The AFAA has chapters located throughout the United States.  Its members include fire alarm installation companies, contractors, central station companies, fire alarm manufactures, fire protection engineers, municipal fire and sub-code officials and anyone involved in the automatic fire alarm industry.

Our #1 Purpose is the Education of those involved in the fire alarm industry.
Education in all aspects of fire detection systems including design, codes and code issues, application, installation, testing and maintenance, new technology and issues relating the business side of the fire alarm company - there's something for everyone!  The ever-changing codes, technology and circumstances make the AFAA a valuable asset to anyone involved in the fire alarm industry.

Who's the AFAA of New Jersey you are!

If you want to see more training dates added to this list you have to

ask for them, we are a volunteer organization, we do what we do because we want to give back to our industry and community

CPD’s:

Each member is responsible to maintain their own current list of CPD’s, this can be as simple as writing it down, or if you like, keeping a spread sheet. Each time you attend a meeting, seminar or training class record the topic, time and relevance to the industry. We highly recommend keeping your personal CPD list updated each time you earn CPD’s. To your left is a link to NICET's down loadable CPD record log. If you're NICET Certified you will be reminded that you need to renew after three years, however, if you’re simply using NICET to keep your records for your NJ Fire Alarm Permit you will not be reminded when it is time to renew. You must provide your paperwork to NICET early to ensure that you have your letter from them to forward to the DCA, DFS when its time to renew. You will have to request your letter from NICET so you have it already to submit it to the DFS PRIOR TO YOUR EXPIRATION DATE!!!!!!!

Over 92,000 people are waiting for the gift of life

Each day, about 74 people receive organ transplants. However, 18 people die each day waiting for transplants that can’t take place because of the shortage of donated organs.

Please decide today to make your wishes known about organ and tissue donation.

  • Your heart could beat for someone else.
  • Your lungs could breathe for someone else.
  • Your kidneys could free two people from dialysis.
  • Your liver could save the life of a patient awaiting a transplant.
  • Your corneas could give sight to two people.
  • Your bones could help repair other people's damaged joints.
  • Your skin could help heal burn victims.
